Usage Example
UEL/UELM
- 1.1.1 When selecting the installation location for the valve, consider operability such as handle height and stem orientation, and ensure there is enough space for safe and easy operation and maintenance.
- 1.1.2 If it is unavoidable to install the valve in a confined space, please ensure that operation, inspection, and maintenance are not hindered.
- 1.1.3 Whenever possible, avoid installing the valve in locations where vibration or other external forces may interfere with its function.
- 1.1.4 As a general rule, the mounting orientation of the valve should be vertical mounting on horizontal piping.
- 1.1.5 Swing check valves can be mounted on both horizontal and vertical piping; however, when installed on vertical piping, the fluid flow direction must be from bottom to top.
- 1.1.6 Lift check valves are limited to use with horizontal piping only.
- 1.1.7 When using spring-loaded lift check valves with vertical piping, ensure that the flow direction is from bottom to top.
- 1.2.1 Before mounting the valve to the piping, please check the following items.
(1) The operating fluid pressure matches the valve specifications.
(2) The pipe threads of the joints are matched.
(3) There should be no damage to the thread section of the valve and piping.
(4) Inspect the thread at the end of the piping with a thread gauge to confirm that the thread conforms to the standard. - 1.2.2 Before installing the valve in piping, thoroughly clean and remove cutting oil, cutting chips, contaminants, etc., from the connecting thread section and inside the piping.
- 1.2.3 Do not throw, drop, drag, tip over, or subject the valve to any impact.
- 1.2.4 Remove the valve protection just before piping installation.
- 1.2.5 After completing the piping mounting, be sure to inspect each tightening area and retighten if any are loose.
- 1.2.6 After completing the piping mounting, be sure to fully open all valves in the piping line and remove any contaminants inside the pipe by brushing.
Do not perform any opening/closing of the valve during brushing. - 1.3.1 Make sure that the end of the pipe is threaded before connecting the valve.
- 1.3.2 Remove cutting oil, cutting chips, contaminants, etc., from the connecting thread section of the pipe and valve and inside the pipe with a detergent, cleaning rag, etc.
- 1.3.3 Apply seal (sealing tape, etc.) to the thread section of the piping.
- 1.3.4 When connecting the piping and valve, use an appropriate tool to thread them together.
- 1.3.5 When threading the valve onto the piping, do not apply excessive torque. The threaded torque value should be within the value shown in the table below.
| Nominal diameter | 1/8 | 1/4 | 3/8 | 1/2 | 3/4 | 1 | 1-1/4 | 1-1/2 | 2 | 2-1/2 | 3 | 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard tightening torque N⋅m | 10 | 20 | 30 | 40 | 60 | 100 | 120 | 150 | 200 | 250 | 300 | 400 |
1.3.6 Gradually increase the pressure and temperature during the test run, and retighten each tightening part as necessary.
Product Feature Details
B series
To address issues such as insufficient strength and lack of corrosion resistance in bronze and ductile iron valves, this product was developed in accordance with the JIS B 2011 bronze valve standard. It is a high-quality, long-lifespan, easy-to-use flange type and threaded stainless steel valve that complies with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan's Standard Specifications for Mechanical Equipment Work and the Stainless Steel Association SAS358 standard for preventing red water in tap water.
Selection Support Information
Stainless steel valves are highly durable and have traditionally been used in fields such as chemical plants and petrochemical industries. However, in recent years, their high cost-effectiveness due to corrosion resistance and durability has been recognized, and they are now being adopted in a wide range of fields, including equipment for general industries, water supply systems, and building facilities.
Stainless steel valves are organized into series according to their design specifications, making valve selection easier.
Our products include industrial valves manufactured in compliance with various standards, as well as KITZ standard products designed and manufactured for specific uses. Valves that comply with standards are used mainly in chemical plants and similar facilities, while KITZ standard products are primarily used for general equipment applications.
In addition, KITZ stainless steel valves are produced under strict quality control, with integrated production from casting to assembly, consistently providing high-quality valves.
