Design Confirmation Points
■ Selection
In the case of chain transmission, there is no need to apply excessive initial tension to the chain itself for meshing transmission with the sprocket. Therefore, a small tension just enough to take up the slack in the chain is sufficient for the chain tensioner.
Please select the size of the tensioner according to the chain size from the table below.
In this case, set the tensioner angle to 10–15°. For long chains, please take the weight of the chain itself into consideration.
| Chain size | NSE size |
|---|---|
| 35 | NSE-15, NSE-18 |
| 40 | NSE-18 |
| 50·60 | NSE-27 |
| 80 | NSE-38 |
| 100, 120 | NSE-45 |

Usage Example
Usage Examples
■ Idler Settings

On the other hand, when applying tension from the inside, please set the idler on the side of the larger sprocket (pulley).
For chain tensioners, make sure that at least three teeth of the sprocket idler are engaged with the chain.
If excessive tension is applied to the chain or belt, the lifespan of the chain, belt, and bearing will be significantly reduced.
Please allow for appropriate slack during use. A setting angle of approximately 10 to 15° is provided as a reference.
When applying tension from the inside of the V-belt, please use a V-pulley idler. For timing belts, please use a timing idler.
Since the tensioner fixing bolts and idler fixing bolts use strength class 8.8, please tighten them to the tightening torque specified below.
| Part number | Bolt Nominal Diameter × Length | Proper Tightening Torque [N⋅m] |
|---|---|---|
| NSE-15 | M8 x 25 | 25 |
| NSE-18 | M10 x 30 | 49 |
| NSE-27 | M12 x 40 | 86 |
| NSE-38 | M16 x 40 | 210 |
| NSE-45 | M20 x 50 | 410 |
| Part number | Bolt Nominal Diameter × Length | Proper Tightening Torque [N⋅m] |
|---|---|---|
| NSE-15 | M10 x 60, 55 | 20 |
| NSE-18 | M10 x 60, 55 | 20 |
| NSE-27 | M12 × 75,80 | 35 |
| NSE-38 | M20×100,100 | 160 |
| NSE-45 | M20 × 140,130 | 160 |

Product Feature Details
· Maintains proper belt tension and automatically absorbs chain slack, vibration, and shock
The basic structure consists of an arm pre-attached inside the Rosta suspension unit, with the outer shell in a flange type shape. Installation requires only a single center bolt, making it easy to maintain proper belt tension, absorb chain slack, and install components such as conveyor belt scrapers and pressure rollers.
