Features of AC solenoid (shading coil method)
The shading coil method is a method in which a copper ring is embedded in the core (fixed core) as shown in the figure to suppress the pulsation of the suction force due to alternating current.
This is the same as the "flywheel diode method" with a commutator works to suppress the pulsation of the suction force.
The shading coil method has features such as good responsiveness, simple structure, and no direction for connection. However, it also has the following drawbacks and is unreliable. There is a burnout accident, there is a snarling, the shading coil comes off.
The Koganei shading coil method is a highly reliable one that solves these drawbacks.
Current waveforms during normal operation and abnormal conditions
