Selection Criteria for Main Components

  • With conditions of sheet roll maximum diameter: D = 105mm and maximum tension generated by motor: F = M/2 = 2N, the motor is selected.

Design Evaluation

Verification of main components

  • The motor torque is verified to see whether the required torque is satisfied.
    • From required motor torque: T = D/2 x F, T = 0.0525 x 2 = 0.1N·m
      0.1 x 2 (safety factor) = 0.2N·m < 0.29N·m = motor torque
      -> There is no problem.

Other Design Consideration

  • The dancer mechanism part is arranged to be compact and fit in a space equivalent to the sheet roll diameter.
    When the position of the dancer roll is detected by the sensors, the workpiece feed is turned off and when its up its turned on.
